Like Steeplechase on steroids. This course has the longest hole in Austin at 1033' . I played the "short tee"--it was only 895', LOL. Lots of opportunities to hit the water too.

Local Directions: From the south: I-35 to exit 230. Merge on to I-35 Frontage Rd N and continue for 1 mile to a right on E Ben White Blvd. (signs for Texas Highway 71 E). Follow Ben White Blvd. for 1.1 miles to a right towards Burleson Rd. Turn left on Burleson and drive 1.7 miles to a left on Smith School Rd. and then take your first right on Metropolis Dr. Take a left into the second parking lot and drive straight back to the trees. First tee is nearby.

From the north: I-35 to exit 230. Merge on to TX-71 and then take the Montopolis Dr. Turn right on Chapman Ln. and then make a left on Burleson Rd. Drive 1.4 miles to a left on Smith School Rd. and then take your first right on Metropolis Dr. Take a left into the second parking lot and drive straight back to the trees. First tee is nearby.

Leave early and try to be at the first tee by 8:45. It's a little hard to find. Call me if you can't-- John 51two- 8five0, 45ateeight, jumbled for web bots. Shotgun starts. Water penalties apply. Guys from the north, you may want to carpool to this one.

Shannon, I would have liked to play Alex Clark as well but didn't want to miss the meet up. Enjoy, I here that the course is very difficult. I'm looking forward to the challenge. Anyway good luck on Sat.

Roger, we're going to McKinney this weekend but playing in the Saturday tourney at Alex Clark. I wanted to play both tourneys but we have to be back by Sunday because the kids have to sing in church Sunday night.

Roger, Matt's in charge of who can play with a Tag. 3 times within 3 months on multiple courses is the requirement I think.

Manny, maybe someone will go with you Saturday so you can go to the Rivery on Sunday. There's only a 20% chance of rain on Sunday though. If you've had enough (you've done the lion's share) at The Rivery, I'm pretty sure Kevin is going to be out there and we'll finish up under his guidance.

Anyone going to the PDGA event in McKinney on 15th (Discing for a cure)? I went to the last one and it was great, and it's for a very good cause.

    •  Quite a challenging course, but it did play faster than I thought it was. The comparison of Steeplechase on steroids is right on. I should have taken steroids before playing instead of estrogen. Bill- this is the first time I've seen someone take three penalty strokes (creek, tree, creek) on a hole- but way to save 7 with a 45 foot putt.
    •  Thanks for taking over during my gastric distress run to McDonald's. Matt took ace money, sold the tag to Roger, and Steve took the CTP bins just in case. red tees were good for the meetup. It didnt't take as long to play as I thought.
    •  lots of OB, nice new course I hope they install trash cans. Not sure where this course ranks on my best of list only time will tell.

It is great to see some love to the lefty's. I will be back that is for sure but while the course is still new keep your eyes out for snakes.
